Who discovered the microphone

The device, known as a microphone or mic, serves to convert sound into electrical signals.  A Mic or Mike is an Input device from which voice can be amplified as well as recorded.  The discovery of microphones has proved very effective in the field of entertainment and science.

Speeches of leaders in elections are not possible without a microphone.  It is the microphone from which the songs of the films reach us.  Whether it is computers, mobiles, or astronauts going into space, microphones are used everywhere.

Who discovered the microphone

But who discovered the microphone and gave the world a new and better way of expression?  Let's know who discovered the microphone and how old is its history?

Who discovered the microphone and when - the term "microphone" was first used by Sir Charles Wheatstone in 1827.  But it was not invented at that time.  The microphone was invented in 1876 by Emile Berliner.

The microphone the German-American inventor Berliner invented was a carbon-button microphone.  Emil Berliner was born on May 20, 1851 in Hannover, Germany.  Berliner had to move to the US at the age of 19.

The invention of the telephone had a profound effect on this scientist studying physics from the Cooper Institute of America.  When Alexander Graham Bell  Emil Berliner was very impressed by the first telephone introduced at the Centennial Exposition.  He also tried to make amends by changing the telephone.

Berliner invented the microphone for the purpose of further improving the telephone.  At the time of inventing the microphone, Emil Berliner worked with the famous inventor Thomas Edison.

Thus, the microphone was invented as a telephone voice transmitter.  But so important was Emil Berliner's microphone that the Bell Telephone Company bought its patent for $ 50,000.

Emil Berliner has also invented the gramophone, which allows flat records to be played.  The modern music industry has been born due to the gramophone created by him.

When was the electret microphone invented:: James West of Bell Laboratories and Gerhard Sessler invented the electret microphone in 1964.

The electret microphone has proved to be more useful due to its lower cost as well as smaller size.  In this, the quality of voice is more clear and it is also more durable.

Its invention has revolutionized the world of microphones.  Electret microphones produce over 100 million annually.

Another milestone of further improving the microphone was in 2010 when Eigenmike was launched.  Its specialty is that it is made up of many high quality microphones, which are mounted on a circular surface.

In this, the sound can be captured from different directions.  This allows voice to be controlled in various ways during voice-editing.
