Who discovered the WWW?

Who discovered the WWW?  Today we will know through our post who discovered the WWW?  And along with this, today we will also try to know in detail about this topic.  Who discovered our post WWW?  Do not forget to read it completely.

Who discovered the WWW

WWW is a group of all web pages, pictures, videos and all types of online content that can be accessed on the Internet.  www is also colloquially known as "Web".  Both internet and www are different technologies.

Who discovered WWW - WWW is World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist.  Tim Berners-Lee was employed at CERN (European Nuclear Research Organization, Geneva) when WWW was invented.

Tim Berners-Lee demonstrated www to the general public on 6 August 1991, while www was made publicly available on 23 August 1991.

Tim Berners-Lee was born on 8 June 1955 in London and his parents were also computer scientists.  He graduated from Oxford University.

He first wrote web client and server codes in 1990.  Tim Berners-Lee is currently the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).  They continue to raise their voice globally for net neutrality, privacy and open government data.  They have invented HTML markup language and HTTP Protocol.

Why was the World Wide Web (WWW) discovered?

Who discovered the WWW

The Web (www) was launched to meet the demand for information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world.

Tim Berners-Lee (when working as a software engineer at CERN in 1989), had different knowledge on different computers at the time.  To access these information, all computers had to be used separately.

The discovery of the Internet started connecting computers at that time, but Tim Berners-Lee laid the foundation for exchanging people through Hypertext.

Tim first introduced his idea in March 1989 in a document titled "Information Management: A Proposal".  Developing the web was never an official project for the CERN organization.  But Tim's boss gave him time to develop it and he developed it using a NeXT computer.

What are the CORE TECHNOLOGIES of WWW?

The Web is one of the many applications of the Internet and computer networks.  It is based on three major and core technologies.  The credit for writing these three core technologies also goes to Tim Berners-Lee.  Tim had developed them by October 1990.

HTML - Hypertext Markup Language :- It is used as a markup language for the web.  This is the basic language of web browsers. HTTP - It is a network protocol that web browsers and servers use to communicate.  HTTP has the latest version 2.0 approved in 2015. URL or URI - Uniform Resource Identifier This is also commonly known as URL (Uniform Resource Locator).  It acts as the address of web pages.

The world's first website was created for a world wide web project hosted on Tim Berners-Lee's computer. Tim Berners-Lee made the use of the WWW available on a royalty-free basis in April 1993.
