Who Invented Wifi

A few years ago, there was no such thing as WIFI but in today's technology world, Wifi has become an important part. Whether it is mobile or computer wifi, we all use it today.

Have you ever thought how we are using the internet without wire.

Early research:-

Wifi was invented by John O Sullivan, a radio astronomer based in Australia, and his teammates.  At that time, he used to work for the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).

This team was earlier experimenting about Exploding Mini black hole.  Efforts are on to bring different speeds of waves on one track from this black hole.

For which the mathematical equation fourier transform was used.  Even after a lot of hard work, this experiment failed and this fourier transform equation later became a great help in the invention of Wifi.

In the year 1990, this team of CSIRO thought that it is very difficult to be connected to the Internet through the wire every time, so they thought that such an invention should be done which will facilitate the wireless connection to the internet.

For the first time, when the signal is sent from one device to a distance device, a lot of data is missed.  Why Wifi runs on the basis of radio signals.

Therefore, when something like a wall would come between these signals, then information could not be conveyed properly.  Which is called echo or reverberation.

Fourier transform equation:-

At that time, scientists were working on more wakes in the world.  But no one could reach a conclusion.  Now the CSIRO team needed some way that data loss could not be done and could be reached faster.

For this, the signals were divided into small parts and made copies of each part and sent.  Towards the receiver, the fourier transform used to collect data using the equation.

After this, the data would reach from one device to another to a large extent, but there were still some errors left.  Only some part of the data could reach the other side.

After a lot of research, this team started using the error correction technique. After using this technique, one day in 1993, there was a data transfer with zero errors, which will bring a big change in the whole world.  Was

CSIRO vs Tech Companies:-

But it was very difficult to use this technology at that time because there were not so many high speed chips.  In 1996, this invention got a patent. In 1999, IEEE wrote about this invention, and this invention was also described by many as the best.
As soon as the tech companies came to know about this invention, they started making many products using this technology. In the year 2001, many products started coming to the market without CSIRO team permission.

CSIRO prosecuted all the companies which were using without permission, in which there were many big companies like Dell, Intel, Microsoft, Apple.

All these companies flatly refused this charge and the case went on in court.  In 2007 CSIRO won the case and in 2012 entered into a settlement with $ 220 Million Dollars.

This invention was known only with a radio frequency name. The interbrand advertising company thought that this invention should be given some name that would be good to speak and listen to. In the end, this invention was named Wifi and this company also made its logo.
